An interpretation Of The Classic

“The quest for that lost slipper—and true love—has never seemed more profound… Not only a Cinderella for adults but a superb display of hallucinatory stagecraft.” -- Los Angeles Times

Matthew Bourne transforms the classic fairy tale into a wartime romance with a twist of Hollywood glamour. A chance meeting results in a magical night for Cinderella and her dashing young RAF pilot, together just long enough to fall in love before being parted by the Blitz.

Following the dazzling smash hit The Red Shoes in 2017, New Adventures returns to the Ahmanson with one of their most beloved dance theatre productions, Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella. Performed to Prokofiev’s magnificent score, this new production comes alive with heart-stopping choreography, vivid theatrical storytelling, and sumptuous award-winning scenic and costume designs that will transport audiences to the heart of war-torn London for a timeless story of the power of love.

“An enchanting fairy tale gleaming with the magic at its center. Bourne brings his signature emotion, technical wizardry, and choreographic brilliance back to the Ahmanson. Each company member is flawless.” -- Entertainment Weekly

“Bourne at his best, bridging the distance between musical theatre and ballet. Will sweep even dance aesthetes off their feet.” -- Hollywood Reporter

“A valentine to the power of love.” -- Los Angeles Times
