Based on the acclaimed audio experience A Walk in My Neighborhood, which LAist  called “genius.”

Join us on the Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center for an interactive audio experience by LA-based theatremaker Katie Lindsay as she reflects on what it means to feel a sense of belonging at CTG. Explore the architecture while learning about the theatres’ history, the artists and visionaries who shaped it, and the land the theatres stand on. Discover the plaza anew while considering your own relationship to LA’s theatre company.

This interactive audio walk can be experienced any time the plaza is open. To participate, scroll down this webpage, grab your headphones, and head to the Jerry Moss Plaza.

The episodes are designed to be listened to individually or together as one continuous experience. If you plan to experience the entire series before an evening show, we recommend arriving 90 minutes before your curtain time.

Introduction

Listen to this episode first to learn about how to experience Walk With Me CTG.

Episode 1: “CTG's Outdoor Lobby"

Experience the architecture of the Jerry Moss Plaza, hear about the origins of The Music Center, home to the Taper and Ahmanson, and learn about efforts to make it a place of welcoming.

Episode 2: “LA's Theatre Company"

Explore the architecture of the Mark Taper Forum while we learn about the venue's storied history and where it's headed in the future.

Episode 3: “The Roots of the Land"

See the plaza through the eyes of L. Frank, a Tongva elder, while she and Katie talk about the Indigenous history of the land and how that history informs our relationship to the space today.

Episode 4: “Between Strangers"

We use the plaza to reflect on how to re-establish a sense of connection and belonging in public spaces after the shutdown.
