The selected 2025/26 Student Ambassadors will plan an event that explores advocacy through storytelling. While working towards their culminating event, Student Ambassadors will investigate different examples of arts advocacy in theatre, learn community engagement and project management strategies, enhance their personal leadership skills, and explore how an arts organization operates. 

The Ambassador Program runs from October 2025–April 2026. Please review the complete schedule under PROGRAM COMMITMENT AND SCHEDULE before you apply.

How To Apply

Applications are open now and due by 12pm PT on Monday September 8, 2025. 

To apply for the Student Ambassador program, all applicants must complete the electronic application with their guardian. Please have the following materials ready before beginning your application:

  • Review all program information 
    Applicants should only apply if they are eligible for the program, have reliable transportation to downtown LA, and are available for all listed program dates. Details can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions section. 
  • Prepare your application responses 
    We recommend reviewing the CTG Ambassador Questions and preparing your responses in a separate document before you begin to fill out the application. This helps ensure thoughtful responses to each question and helps prevent lost work as once you begin applying, you cannot save and return to your application.
  • Identify a teacher or administrator at your school to endorse your application. You will need to provide their email to complete your application. After you submit your application, both your chosen educator and guardian will need to reply to the application confirmation email to confirm they have read and reviewed the program information and endorse/give permission for you to apply. Please share this information with your educator and guardian before applying.

After You Apply

After we receive the endorsement from your guardian and educator, your application is considered complete. A select number of applicants will be invited to a Group Interview on September 23 from 4:30–7pm. Invitation to the Group Interview is not acceptance into the program.  

The program team will select the 2025/26 Student Ambassadors after the Group Interview, and all applicants will be notified of program acceptance or release.

Center Theatre Group does not provide transportation to and from program locations, but we do provide free parking or a free Metro pass to students throughout the program.  

Program Commitment and Schedule

This is a seven-month, approximately 60-hour in-person program. Students and guardians, please check all dates below to be sure you’re able to participate. Do not apply if you cannot come to every session. Missing more than one session will result in removal from the program. 

Consider the following conflicts before applying: after-school activity schedules in both the fall and spring semesters, festivals, family vacations, college planning trips, and mandatory scholarship or school events.

All Student Ambassadors are required to attend the following:

    • Tuesday, September 23, 2025: Group Interview 4-7pm 
    • Saturday, October 4, 2025: Orientation 1-4pm 

At least one Guardian for each selected Ambassador is also required to attend the Orientation

    • Tuesdays, October 7 and 21, 2025: Group Meetings 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesdays, November 4 and 18, 2025: Group Meetings 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesday, December 2: Group Meeting 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesday, December 9: Group Retreat 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesday, January 20, 2026: Group Meeting 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesdays, February 3 and 17: Group Meetings 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesdays, March 3 and 17: Group Meetings 4:30-7:30pm
    • Saturday, March 21, 2026: Ambassador Event 11am-4pm
    • Tuesday, March 24, 2026: Group Meeting 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesday, April 14, 2026: Group Meeting 4:30-7:30pm
    • Tuesday, April 21, 2026: Culmination Celebration 4:30-8pm 

Guardians and Educators will be invited and encouraged to join us from 6-8pm at the Culmination Celebration.

In addition to the program dates listed above, each Ambassador must also attend a preview performance of Here Lies Love at The Mark Taper Forum (located across the street from The Music Center Annex). Ambassadors can choose between the following two dates:

    • Thursday February 12, 2026 at 7:30pm
    • Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 7:30pm (immediately following the Group Meeting that day)
